The river provides excellent migratory and nesting habitat for some of Dayton’s most striking birds. Target species include Scarlet Tanager, Pileated Woodpecker, Prothonotary Warbler, Yellow-throated Warbler, Northern Parula, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and Barred Owl.
